Georgian-American Startup Ecosystems – From the 1990s to Today.

On April 3 at 19:00, in auditorium B201 at Ilia State University, the first meeting will be held to mark the launch of the Startup Grind Ilia State University Chapter, on the topic:
“Georgian-American Startup Ecosystems – From the 1990s to Today.”

The 1990s marked the beginning of many giant technology companies and the foundations of modern market economy principles. These companies managed to leverage new technologies and innovative business models to compete with traditional industries and create entirely new markets.

At the event, speakers will review — through examples from the Georgian and American contexts — the processes that have shaped startup ecosystems from the 1990s to the present day. They will also discuss the challenges faced by startup environments between 1990 and 2022 and share their personal experiences.

In 2015, Davit returned to Georgia after living abroad and has since been actively involved in developing the country’s startup ecosystem. He is the coordinator of the Georgia 500 Accelerator Program.
